ME AND MY DAD WRITTEN BY MY SISTER BARBARA

TO LOSE YOU NOW IS JUST TO MUCH ,
WE MISS YOUR CHATS WE MISS YOUR TOUCH ,
WE CANT BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE GONE ,
BUT YOU TAUGHT US RIGHT FROM WRONG,
YOU SEE DAD IT HASNT SUNK IN .
WE KEEP THINKING WE'LL GIVE YOU A RING.
IF WE COULD RING THAT HEAVENLY PHONE
WE WOULD RING TO SAY JUST COME HOME .
GOD TAKES THE BEST OR SO THEY SAY .
BUT HE COULD HAVE LEFT YOU ONE MORE DAY.
SO WE COULD SAY WE LOVE YOU WITH ALL OUR HEART .
TO LET YOU KNOW IT HURTS TO PART
WE REALY WANTED YOU WITH US .
TO LOSE YOU NOW IS JUST TOO MUCH .
BUT THE DAY HAS COME,AND YOU ARE GONE .
SO FOR OUR MAM WE MUST BE STRONG .
AND IF WE LISTEN WE WILL HERE YOU SHOUT
SHUT THAT DOOR THE HEATS GETTING OUT.
I HOPE YOU GET THE CLOUD WITH NO DRAUGHT .
TO SOME THIS MIGHT SOUND STUPID OR EVEN DAFT ,
BUT WE ALL NEW WHAT YOU MEANT
WHEN YOU KEPT CHECKING THE HEATING VENT
GOD BLESS YOU DAD  YOU WERE ONE IN A MILLION

My Dad Claude (jimmy) Stephenson 15.05.1922 - 13.04.2006 WRITTEN BY ME

No words of consolation

Spoken , no matter how,

Can help us with the sadness

That we are all feeling now.

But, in the weeks and months to follow

When we might be feeling at our worst

I hope that we can take some comfort

From my little verse

My Dad looked after all of us

He worked hard all his life

For our happiness and contentment

And of course For his beloved Wife

He always wanted the best for us

This was always foremost in his mind

And we were very lucky

To have a Dad so loving and kind

A fathers job is not an easy one

No lessons did ours take

To show the paths of right and wrong

All these decisions he did make

He learnt from any mistakes he made

And of all the decisions that he took

He learnt from loving us and God

Not from some text book

He made us very happy

He helped make us what we are

And I know that he was so very proud

Of his 2 sons and three daughters

God did not make a mould

When he had Fathers in his mind

But if every Dad had been like ours

The world would be a nicer kind

My Dad was no angel

During his life on earth,

But it is only fair now

That he should go to heaven and Claim his worth

Our Dad deserves his place in heaven

Through hard work and kindness it was earned

His body was growing frail and weak

And for Heaven his soul had yearned

He knows that we all will miss him

He knows how much we all cared

He knows that we all loved him

Because of the life  together we shared

There is no way he would have left us

If he had thought he should not have gone

He knows we are all grown up and settled

And that his role on earth was done

To His satisfaction

And to Gods Goodwill

In Life our Dad loved us

In Death he loves us still

How i came to make this site

As I stated on my home page I was inspired by Mr David Jenks of North Carolina, to create this website.

One day, as I was browsing through various Yahoo members profiles, I came across David's, when I looked at his full profile, I found that we had quite a bit in common. We were of a similar age, had been married a similar number of years, and most importantly, for me,appeared to have similar ideas about life and happiness as I had. When I read his favourite quote and found it was the same as one of mine I just felt I had to contact him.

That quote was:-

"I cried because I had no shoes, until I seen a man who had no Feet".

This quote has been a favourite of mine for many many years, and I when I have quoted it to people, many have looked at me, as if I was not quite right in the head, but this quote to me, says everything about this materialistic society that we now all live in, and to my way of thinking, if more people were just grateful for what they have, instead of always wanting more, this whole world would be a far better place. There has always been too much emphasis on who you are by what you have, some people have forgotten, or perhaps have never known, what it is like to be happy, just for the sake of it, and need to "own" things or people, to give them the feeling of happinesss that they crave. True Happiness is not found by simply owning things, but what you do with the things that you own.

If you need to wear shoes, what is more important, the fact that your feet or covered, or that they are covered in Nike, Bally, or Christian Dior designer footwear?

If you need a bed to sleep in what is the most important aspect of that bed, is it comfort and warmth, or is it style and luxury? A chair is a chair, so long as it has four legs, a place for your bottom, and a backrest, what it is made of and covered with is irrelevant to the use of the chair.

If you are able to have what you need, and also able to have it in a style you like, rather than just what you need, then you are indeed very fortunate, in being able to have a choice, but please, don't judge other people, just because they are not as fortunate as yourself. It does not mean that they are not as good as you - only that they are not as rich in material things as you - Or perhaps they choose to use their riches in a different way, which just might make them better at being good people.
